Regarding the IES Lighting Award
The IES North American Society of Lighting Engineers has a history of 116 years, and since its establishment, the IES Lighting Award has been held annually. It is one of the most authoritative and oldest lighting design awards in the world. The IES Lighting Award aims to provide an opportunity for lighting design projects that demonstrate professionalism, intelligence, and creativity to gain public recognition.
This award, along with the Lighting Design Award presented by the British magazine "Lighting" and the IALD Lighting Award presented by the International Association of Lighting Designers, is known as one of the three most authoritative lighting design awards in the world today, representing the highest level of design in the global lighting field that year. Among them, the IES Lighting Award, which originated in 1973, has the longest history.
The lighting design project submitted by ELD in 2022 won two Excellence Awards at the IES Lighting Awards, achieving the best results in participating in the IES Award selection.
In the future, ELD will demonstrate more innovation and professional design capabilities in the field of lighting design, using natural and artificial light to create more comfortable lighting environments.

Yixing Dongpo Pavilion wins IES Excellence Award

Dongpo Pavilion is a landmark landscape building of Yixing Yada Health Ecological Industrial Park. Built along the mountain, Dongpo Pavilion stretches and twists, perfectly blending into the Yangxian landscape. The overall lighting design concept also changes with the mountain shape and architecture, and is integrated with the overall lighting atmosphere of the Yiyang Town.

Dongpo Pavilion inherits the characteristics of typical official style architecture in the Song Dynasty. The building itself is delicate and beautiful, with emphasis on decoration. The building structure is layered, and the space is rich and diverse, demonstrating a high level of architectural skills.

The detailed architectural features of Dongpo Pavilion are one of the key points to be expressed by lighting. As an important characteristic of ancient Chinese architectural style, the flying eaves add dynamic beauty to the building configuration through the lighting of the eaves. By using lighting, the visual effect of lifting the building into the night sky can be achieved, and at the same time, the exquisite architectural techniques and details can be appreciated in a comfortable lighting environment.

Yixing Yada Town Center (Yada Yangxian Xishan) is located in Yangxian Lake, Huzhen, Yixing City. The architectural form of the park is integrated into the mountains, waters, and tea gardens, with an irreplaceable ecological environment for elderly care. The entire project showcases the profound cultural heritage of Yixing and the characteristics of traditional residential blocks. As the living and commercial center of Yada Yangxian Xishan, as well as the tourist gathering center of Yangxian Ecotourism Resort, the town center takes into account the overall architectural landscape layout, business distribution planning, and pedestrian flow planning. Through the sorting of the overall architectural design and the use of different lighting techniques, the architecture, landscape, commerce, and tourists are organically connected, thus creating an elegant, peaceful, and hidden atmosphere of retirement in the mountains and waters. The overall brightness scale of the lighting in the town center is planned based on the terrain scale, building scale, and viewing angle of the industrial park. Different brightness levels are planned, taking into account the overall natural ecological environment and the overall night atmosphere of the park. Different spatial formats are used to create a night lighting atmosphere that is in line with the positioning of the town center, focusing on reflecting the collision of modernity and history in the town center and creating a unique and creative artistic atmosphere. The purpose of the lighting atmosphere in the town center is not only to showcase the characteristics of the architecture and landscape, but more importantly, to provide a comfortable and natural light environment and activity atmosphere for the people in the block. We strive to present the design creativity of lighting effects to visitors in a natural and dynamic state, allowing them to enjoy the pleasure of health and wellness in the park.
